A team-building Christmas trip!

On Sunday, the Aurelia Marketing’s team set off to explore the festive lights, trees, and markets covering London this Christmas. As our first team-building trip, we all embarked into the city by trains with grey skies overhead and a muggy chill in the air.

The first stop was Southbank where discovered the SoLo Craft Market and browsed through all the intricate and adorable creations that made for perfect gifts. Next we moved outward then under train lines to investigate the Southbank Christmas Market stalls.

By then, the classic British weather had made itself known as we all pulled up hoods and ducked beneath the occasional cover of train-bridges along the Thames.

Next, we’d gathered in a cafe for a quick (but necessary) coffee pitstop before setting off to the Covent Garden Christmas Market. The area was extremely crowded with shoppers and the onlookers of a magician’s performance—but seeing the place done up with bells and bows was beautiful. Especially its huge Christmas tree! You can never have too many Christmas lights on a Christmas tree.

Our last Christmas Market of the day was Leicester Square, where we tucked into delicious pasta while watching the ice skaters zip round and round the rink whilst browsing the gorgeous market stalls.

From there we moved towards the Disney store and descended into complete chaos and the hoards of Christmas shoppers. To stay on theme, the trip took us to Oxford street where Selfridges was doing a collaboration with Disney. I was completely astounded and surprised by the displays running along the building, each showing all of the favourite films from my childhood. When got inside the others had grabbed some Disney-themed pastries while I enjoyed a chocolate milkshake.

To round off the our trip we took some pictures in a vintage photoboth to commemorate the first team-building day, before heading towards the Underground below the magical Christmas lights all along the streets of London.

This was a very eventful trip and we all had a great time visiting all these local stalls.

For our first blog, we had to make it a good one!
